The U.S. expands its Global Entry program to include UAE citizens, enabling faster entry and boosting travel, tourism, and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The United States has officially broadened its Global Entry program to welcome citizens from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a step that aims to simplify travel for Emiratis visiting the U.S. and enhance diplomatic relations between the two countries. Global Entry, led by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), offers pre-approved travelers quicker entry, making arrival in the U.S. more efficient for those eligible.
This addition means that frequent UAE travelers to the U.S.can now greatly minimize wait times at customs in various U.S. airports. Approved members of the program can bypass traditional immigration lines and utilize automated kiosks for entry, enhancing the travel experience. This initiative supports the broader goal of reinforcing U.S.-UAE relations, promoting both business and tourism interactions.
Eligible UAE applicants can register for the Global Entry program by submitting their application through the official Global Entry website.. The application process includes a detailed background check and a face-to-face interview at a designated enrollment center. Once accepted, membership lasts for five years, offering UAE citizens an extended period of expedited travel to the United States. This membership also includes TSA PreCheck benefits, which facilitate quicker security screening at U.S. airports.
The addition of UAE citizens to the Global Entry program highlights the significance of UAE-U.S. relations and a shared commitment to facilitating easier travel. The UAE now joins an exclusive group of nations with access to this privilege, underscoring the trust and cooperation between the two governments.
