Oman Showcases Sustainable Tourism Vision At WTM London, Highlighting Unique Heritage And Natural Beauty

Oman unveils its sustainable tourism vision at WTM London 2024, showcasing rich heritage and natural beauty as it redefines eco-friendly travel in the Middle East.

Oman is making a remarkable impact at the World Travel Market (WTM) 2024 in London, unveiling a visionary approach to sustainable tourism and spotlighting its diverse natural and cultural gems. Led by His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahroqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Oman’s delegation includes officials from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism along with representatives from 32 prominent Omani travel, tourism, and hospitality entities.

Oman’s participation at WTM coincides with a significant growth phase for its tourism sector. In 2023, nearly four million tourists visited Oman, marking a 36.7% rise from the previous year. The momentum continues in 2024, with almost two million arrivals recorded in the first half. Drawing interest from international ministers, tourism companies, and investors, Oman’s pavilion highlights the country as a prime destination for cultural exploration and sustainable travel.

HE Al Mahroqi emphasized that Oman’s participation aligns with the Ministry’s strategic goals to promote Oman as a sustainable tourism destination and attract global partnerships. “This event allows us to enhance Oman’s position as a premier tourist destination, spotlight our rich natural and heritage assets, and create meaningful partnerships with international tourism companies,” he noted.

The pavilion includes interactive displays and discussions designed to foster collaborations with global stakeholders and explore investment opportunities. Oman is focusing on green initiatives, aiming to create projects that align with travelers’ desires for authentic, eco-friendly experiences.

With its engagements at WTM 2024, Oman reinforces its commitment to becoming a sustainable and integrated tourism leader, blending innovation with environmental responsibility to shape the future of tourism.
