Once again, the spotlight will be on ‘blue tourism’ at the International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR, organized by IFEMA MADRID from January 24 to 28, 2024. The FITUR Cruises section in Hall 4 will transform into the epicenter of the cruise industry, featuring top destinations and major players presenting a diverse range of experiences through activities, conferences, and stands.
The highly anticipated Cruceroadicto Awards will recognize the top cruises of 2023, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. Industry professionals and the general public will converge in this maritime enclave, engaging in networking sessions, practical talks, dynamic events for all ages, and meet-ups, fostering a deeper understanding of the cruise holiday offer for travel agents and passengers alike.
Notable participants include the iconic Disney Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara, and Costa Cruceros, each bringing their unique offerings to the forefront. Newcomer Miray Cruises from Turkey, specializing in cruises around the Greek islands and Eastern Mediterranean, will also make its debut at FITUR.
Among the tourist destinations, Ceuta stands out, revealing the wonders awaiting cruise passengers at its Mediterranean port. Additionally, non-profit organization Mercy Ships will showcase the social and committed side of cruises, highlighting its solidarity work on hospital ships and medical aid programs in African countries.
A rich program of activities awaits attendees, with Cruise Campus offering mini courses addressing various aspects of the cruising experience. Experts from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Puertos del Estado, Complutense University of Madrid, cruise lines, tourism offices, and seasoned travelers will contribute to discussions shaping the cruise travel experience and its trends.
The B2B focus on Thursday, January 25, will include talks analyzing the present and future of the sector, culminating in the announcement of the Cruceroadicto 2023 Awards winners. Friday, January 26, will shift focus to the marketing of cruises, with travel agencies taking center stage.
FITUR Cruises opens its doors to travelers and the general public over the weekend, featuring the exciting ‘Cruise Scavenger Hunt’ on Saturday, offering participants the chance to win numerous prizes, including cruises. The popular ‘Café&Cruceros’ by Cafés La Mexicana and a cruisers’ breakfast on Sunday add to the weekend festivities.
