Germany’s diverse tourism charms—culture, nature, and luxury—were highlighted at Dubai’s GNTO Roadshow, inspiring GCC visitors with unique travel experiences.
The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) for the Gulf Countries recently hosted its annual Roadshow in Dubai, spotlighting Germany’s rich tourism and hospitality landscape. The event took place at the residence of German Consul General Sybille Pfaff, where a distinguished group of German tourism representatives—from hotels and regional tourism boards to luxury shopping venues—gathered to showcase Germany’s unique appeal for travelers from the Gulf.
In her welcoming remarks, Consul General Pfaff shared stories from her recent travels around Germany, celebrating the country’s vibrant culture and picturesque scenery that continue to captivate visitors. Yamina Sofo, GNTO’s Director for the Gulf region, highlighted Germany’s consistent popularity among Gulf tourists, noting the country’s diverse offerings—from the dynamic cities of Berlin and Munich to tranquil natural landscapes.
Key highlights of the Roadshow included:
GCC Market Growth: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is now Germany’s third-largest overseas tourism market after the USA and China. In 2023, Gulf visitors contributed around €2.6 billion to Germany’s economy, with each visitor spending an average of €4,447, ranking them as the highest-spending international group.
Popular Destinations: Top regions for GCC tourists include Bavaria (Munich), Hesse (Frankfurt), and North Rhine-Westphalia (Cologne and Düsseldorf), showcasing Germany’s appeal to Gulf travelers.
New Participants and Partnerships: This year’s roadshow welcomed Adina Apartment Hotels, Dresden Marketing GmbH, and Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, each presenting unique attractions tailored for Gulf tourists.
Partner Highlights:
The Lufthansa Group further promoted its robust flight network connecting the GCC to Germany, emphasizing enhanced services for Gulf travelers. The event reinforced Germany’s commitment to offering luxurious, family-friendly, and culturally immersive experiences that cater to the evolving preferences of Gulf visitors.
