Abu Dhabi’s DCT successfully concludes the first APAC Travel Marketplace, forging powerful new partnerships and showcasing the emirate’s vibrant tourism offerings.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has wrapped up the first-ever edition of the APAC Travel Marketplace. This two-day event, held from October 15-16 in the culturally rich city of Al Ain, brought together over 200 professionals from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) travel industry. The purpose was to showcase Abu Dhabi’s diverse tourism offerings and build new collaborations.
The APAC Travel Marketplace is a key initiative within DCT Abu Dhabi’s larger strategy to position the emirate as a leading global destination, with a specific focus on the APAC region. Attendees were engaged in personalized meetings, discussions, and educational sessions, all aimed at highlighting the variety of attractions Abu Dhabi offers, from the bustling capital city to the UNESCO-listed heritage site in Al Ain.
Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized the importance of the event, remarking, “The APAC Travel Marketplace demonstrates our commitment to cultivating strong, lasting partnerships in the APAC region. By showcasing Abu Dhabi’s rich culture, heritage, and world-class infrastructure, we are paving the way for growth that aligns with our 2030 Tourism Strategy.”
The event resulted in numerous new partnerships designed to boost visitor numbers from the APAC region, further contributing to Abu Dhabi’s ambitious goal of attracting 39.3 million visitors annually by 2030. These collaborations are expected to enhance both the local economy and the emirate’s broader tourism framework.
