Travelex expands in the UAE with 13 new stores across Abu Dhabi and Dubai airports, enhancing foreign exchange services to meet growing passenger demand.

Travelex, a prominent name in foreign currency exchange, is significantly expanding its presence in the UAE with the opening of 13 new stores at airports in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Travelex first established its presence at Zayed International Airport in late 2023, opening seven stores along with eight ATMs. This expansion includes the addition of six new on-the-move (OTM) kiosks strategically placed in high-traffic areas such as arrivals, baggage claim, and airside zones.departures, and pre-immigration, along with a newly introduced landside store.

The new landside store will offer both consumer-focused cash services, providing access to 62 currencies, and cash management solutions for businesses at the airport.

Travelex made its debut at Zayed International Airport in late 2023, launching with an initial setup of seven stores and eight ATMs.This expansion aligns with the increasing passenger demand and service needs at the UAE’s newest airport.

As an emerging leader in the capital’s aviation landscape, Zayed International Airport has quickly established itself as an essential air travel hub, strengthening its role in the global travel network.

At Dubai International Airport (DXB), Travelex is expanding with six new stores spread across all three terminals, featuring a mix of newly constructed locations and upgraded on-the-move (OTM) kiosks.
Earlier this year, two new ATMs dispensing AED were installed at Terminal 3 Arrivals. DXB’s passenger traffic continues to grow post-pandemic, solidifying its position as a premier global transit point.

With the addition of these 13 new stores across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Travelex will operate 60 locations across the UAE.

According to the latest IATA data, Middle Eastern airlines reported a 9.6% year-over-year increase in demand for June 2024, with capacity rising by 9.4% in the same period.
